Oh, Hi.

It's only been two months since I posted anything. Oops. I got to go to a wedding and do some fabulous photography, which I will post eventually, as well as see some friends who I haven't seen or talked to in years. That was fun, and slightly awkward. My haven't-seen-in-forever-friend was glued to her boyfriend the entire time and I spoke to her for approximately five minutes. Fantastic. (This is why people don't like couples, this and only this). 

Oh and the actual awesome news! I've decided that I can't deal with querying anymore, and I'm going to self publish my novel (Sedition) as an ebook for the Kindle! Here's my fabulous cover which I designed in about an hour...

I also made a plot change that connects all (yes all) of my 50+ books. This was possibly a bad idea. We shall see. Sedition will be available in paperback as well, but not for a while. I also bought the Marvel Cinematic Universe: Phase One. It is lovely. Very lovely. I have no way to play the Blu-Rays, but I love it anyway.

And I'm getting another kitty. It is tiny and black and completely crazy. There are videos on my Instagram and Vine accounts, possibly Twitter as well.

I was going to write a really long post, but now I can't remember what I was going to say. So, bye for now.

Guardians of the Galaxy - Review (No Spoilers)

I went to see Guardians of the Galaxy today. Though this movie had more of a comic book feel to it than some of the other Marvel films, it was spectacular as always. The very first scene had me crying, it didn't take more than five minutes. They found an absolutely amazing child actor to play young Peter Quill, that kid has a great career ahead of him. The story then jumps 26 years into the future, and it just gets better from there on. Between Peter's sassy immaturity, the non-human's who are often oblivious to the meanings of his comments, and the more serious moments, I was either laughing, completely captivated, or crying through the entire thing. The writers manage to make you care about all of the Guardians as they weave in excellent character development, friendships, and backstories while providing the audience with a masterpiece filled with enough explosions and sci-fi-ness to keep the fangirls and boys glued to their seats. Oh yes, and the classic rock is awesome. I could rant for a long time about everything, including how perfect the acting was, but I shall stop now. I give it 10/10 (for Star-Lord's dancing, if nothing else), go see it as soon as you possibly can. The 3D option is fun but unnecessary in my opinion. 

SDCC and Trailers

On one hand, I'm very sad that I missed SDCC. On the other, I'm really glad it's over because TRAILERS! ART! NEWS! I need to start looking at the cosplay pictures from this year ASAP. I had to restrain myself from doing a happy dance when I saw the trailer for The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies. I also kind of wanted to cry thanks to Edge of Night being the song for it. How about no.



Then there's the Mockingjay Part 1 trailer (finally an actual trailer, even if it was just a teaser). But ya know, it was awesome anyway. All I can do is hope that they decide to keep... well, you-know-who alive.



And we also have the first trailer for the Mad Max reboot. Initially I wasn't thrilled with Tom Hardy being cast but that is now replaced by adoration. Also bald and face-painted Charlize Theron... yes. Many explosions and dust and cars flipping and flying all over the place.




Okay I'm going to stop geeking out now. I'll have a couple of posts in the next day or so, one about Lucy, and one about my new film project and the makeup experiments I've been doing for that. And come to think of it, I'll probably have a couple of rants about the new Marvel art before too long.
